In 2009, GE is going to start rolling out a new line of refrigerators which will take energy savings to a new level.

The smart or "Energy Management Enabled" appliances will reduce your utility bills by talking to your utility company and by avoiding peak hour energy usage.

New GE refrigerators will be enabled to receive a signal from your local utility company. This means that GE will collaborate with hudreds of utilities nationwide to make your refrigerator use the cheapest energy.
